Seeking Joy in my Mess

Seeking Joy in my Mess

Over the past few months, I've found myself coming to this rock to be still and escape the chaos of life. Today, I played a worship song called "Come to the River" by Housefires that I hadn't heard before. The lyrics spoke to me, reminding me that God is good and we can find peace in Him.

Reading a bible study book called "Without Rival," I learned that our circumstances don't define us. Though they can challenge and refine us, our mettle (our ability to cope well with difficulties) is ultimately shaped by God. We can choose to let our circumstances bring out our worst or our best.

I realized that I have a choice every day: to let anxiety control me or to choose joy despite the brokenness of life. Life with Jesus doesn't make everything easy, but it gives us the courage and peace to face difficulties. I pray that today, you find the same comfort and strength in knowing that God is always with you, no matter how messy life can be. He will continue to make a way when it seems impossible to take one more step- forever our way-maker, miracle worker, and promise keeper.
